On January 25, the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases of the Mangistau Regional Court sentenced the detective of the OKP of the UP of the city of Aktau Aibekov D to 12 years in prison, said Bigaidarov.
The investigator added that the policeman was suspected of receiving, using his official position in an organized criminal group, funds in the amount of 3 million tenge from the head of the criminal group for general patronage in the organization and maintaining dens for prostitution and procuring.
On April 23, the head of the Office of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kuanysh Zhapakov, reported that the Department for the Mangistau region, together with the regional prosecutor’s office, suppressed the illegal activities of the employees of the Police Department, who patronized foreign citizens who organized a network of brothels for prostitution in Aktau.
It was noted that despite the quarantine, police officers did not take any measures and continued to patronize.
In addition, the police concealed the fact of direct contact of a person infected with a coronavirus infection with foreign citizens engaged in prostitution, which they knew.
