In Mosvka, the Babushkinsky court is hearing the case of Alexey Navalny about insulting a veteran, reports zakon.kz.

According to the Telegram channel Baza, the case was opened back in June 2020.

Then Navalny called the heroes of the video of one of the Russian channels “corrupt lackeys”. Among them was WWII veteran Ignat Artemenko, his grandson wrote a statement to the UK.

Navalny is charged under Part 2 of Article 128.1 – it provides for punishment up to two years in prison. The same Ekaterina Frolova acts as the prosecutor; she also worked in court in the case of violation of the suspended sentence.

The veteran speaks via video link, Alexei is sitting in the already familiar aquarium.

I have a petition and a protest, I am disgusted that this unfortunate person has been used as a doll for several months. I am requesting that he be allowed to lie down and take off his mask. You scoff at a 95-year-old pensioner, and his relatives trade him in order to get money. If he now after what time grabs his heart, you will be to blame for this. Allow him to lie down at least, – noted Navalny.

In turn, Artemenko demands a public apology.

I am a war veteran, retired colonel. Participated in the partisan movement. In June, at the dacha, I learned that Navalny called me a traitor to the homeland. This upset me a lot. I have to defend my honor. I used to give detailed testimony, now I will forgive you to stop interrogation – I feel bad. I want Navalny to publicly apologize to me, ”he said.

On February 2, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow sent Navalny to a general regime colony for 2 years and 8 months.
