Kazakhstanis got into Ridley Scott’s film
The documentary “Life in a Day” by producer Ridley Scott (“Alien”, “Gladiator”, “Soldier Jane”) and directed by Kevin MacDonald has been released. It contains footage from Almaty, reports zakon.kz.
The documentary includes footage taken by the inhabitants of the Earth on July 25, 2020. To become a participant in the film, you had to film your life that day and upload the resulting material to the project’s website before August 2. Potential participants were required to show significant moments of the day or routine, holiday, move, tell a personal story, or how the pandemic affected the world around them, how life is gradually returning to its usual course. According to the project website, 324,705 videos were submitted from residents of 192 countries in 65 languages.
The documentary “Life in a Day” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube on February 6th. Among the film participants were graduates of one of the Almaty universities.
They showed how they were awarded diplomas in quarantine. The solemn moment for them passed modestly, without accompanying persons and relatives, but despite this, they were able to experience a moment of happiness. The stories told in the picture are striking in their diversity and touching to the core.
Documentary director Kevin MacDonald is an Academy Award winner for the historical documentary Once Upon a Time in September, about how the Palestinian terrorist organization Black September took hostage and subsequently killed Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics. The tape includes an interview that the director took from the last surviving terrorist.
