Biertuin in Amsterdam has only been open since June 2012 and is already a neighborhood favorite. This cozy cafe and restaurant with a large patio is located on the border of Oosterpark in East Amsterdam. The patio at the Biertuin is large and very sunny during the warmer months. The veranda is heated in winter. You can find more than 15 different types of beer on draft at the Biertuin. Some local, some Belgian, but all very special. There are 40 more beers by the bottle. This brewpub is located right next to the Butcher’s Tears brewery. The menu features several beers on draft and other specialty beers. Plus a wide range of butcher’s tears on tap and by bottle, including limited and special editions available nowhere else. But don’t worry if you don’t drink beer, they also have Dutch water, wine from a private importer, and lightly roasted coffee made as part of the Swedish scout movement. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside on the butcher’s tears patio to enjoy your drinks. This brewpub is open Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. It’s tucked away in a somewhat industrial area, but don’t let that fool you!
