In Almaty region for a day police detained a driver who hit a pedestrian and fled the scene, zakon.kz reports with reference to the press service of Almaty oblast police department.

The duty department of Karasai AIS received a message from the village of Yeltai at about 19:30 that an unidentified vehicle crashed and fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital unconscious, where he died two days later from his injuries. This fact was registered in the SDBT under part 2 of article 345, article 347 of the Criminal Code of the RoK.

Policemen of the search team of the Almaty oblast police department detained a 31-year-old resident of Karasai district as a result of search operations. Police found a Nissan Largo in the yard of the detainees’ house. The suspect pleaded guilty to all charges. A pre-trial investigation is underway, other information is not subject to disclosure in the interests of the investigation.
