Actions are held in Russia in support of Alexei Navalny and other political prisoners, reports zakon.kz with reference to Mediazona.
The reason was the arrest of an oppositionist who returned home from Germany after treatment.
According to OVD-Info, by 13:40 (16:40 Nur-Sultan time), 1,009 people were detained throughout the country. Most of those detained in Moscow – 142 people, Vladivostok became the second in the number of incidents, 113 people were detained there.
In addition, according to human rights projects, at least 31 journalists and at least 47 minors were detained.
The center of Moscow is closed, parking is prohibited on several streets, the routes of ground transport have changed. Several metro stations are closed. The arrests began even before the start of the action. The ombudsman for human rights in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office urged to refrain from participating in the rallies.

The police used gas on Sennaya Square in St. Petersburg after a crowd tried to fight off the detainees.
In Yaroslavl, Alexander Smirnov, deputy coordinator of the local Navalny headquarters, was taken away at the Youth Theater, with wringing his hands; in total there are at least six detainees.
According to Yarnovosti estimates, about a thousand people are taking part in the procession; due to overlap of the planned route, the end point was moved. From the Youth Theater, as the publication reports, they “move in an organized manner” in the direction of Soviet Square

In Arkhangelsk, dozens of people march, chanting: “Putin is a thief.” The protesters do not pay attention to the warnings of law enforcement officers about the illegality of the action.
