The Czech government has been closing the borders of the republic for foreign citizens since January 30 due to the worsening situation with the coronavirus pandemic. reports zakon.kz.

According to Czech Radio, entry into the country is now allowed only in case of emergency.

Entry was allowed for foreign students studying in the Czech Republic, as well as those who work or have a residence permit in the republic. Exceptions are made for trips to visit close relatives, receive medical assistance, participate in weddings and funerals.

The exception also applies to truck drivers who transport goods to supply the population.

The measure will be valid until February 15.

In terms of the number of coronavirus infections per capita over the past 14 days in the European Union, the Czech Republic ranks third behind Portugal and Spain. By the number of deaths, the Czech Republic is also the third.
