The Anti-Corruption Service has published a video of the detention of suspects in giving and receiving a bribe of the head of the Department of Education of the Almaty region, Maigul Omarova, the chief specialist of the Department and the head of the municipal state institution “Almaty Regional Scientific and Practical Center of Information Technologies in Education”, reports zakon.kz.

On February 1, following the results of the joint work of the Anti-Corruption Service with the Prosecutor’s Office and the National Security Committee of the Almaty Region, a pre-trial investigation was launched against the suspects.

On February 4, the specialized investigative court of the city of Taldykorgan sanctioned a preventive measure in the form of “detention” for a period of up to 2 months against the head of the Department and the head of a public utility institution, and “house arrest” was applied to the head specialist of the Department.

At present, a pre-trial investigation is underway in the case, and therefore other information in the interests of the investigation, in accordance with Article 201 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is not subject to disclosure.
