Long periods of time under the air conditioner can lead to the development of a serious illness. This was told by the doctor and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Belenkov, reports zakon.kz.
A strong temperature difference, outside and at home, can cause a person to develop pneumonia.
According to sanitary standards, the difference in temperature should be no more than 5-7 degrees. This is enough for a comfortable stay. And this will protect against a runny nose, radiculitis, up to pneumonia, which, unfortunately, happens when people are addicted to air conditioners, the doctor told Ura.news.
Bacteria can accumulate inside the air conditioner, mold and fungal spores can appear in a humid environment. All this can provoke the development of infectious diseases of the respiratory system, ranging from chlamydia, mycoplasma, fungal infection. The dried air also irritates the mucous membranes, which leads to sore throat, coughing and sneezing.
