This initiative was made by the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Chakydzhi at the international online conference “Turkestan – the spiritual capital of the Turkic world: integration and prospects for cooperation.” The conference was moderated by the first vice-president of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. The first President of Kazakhstan made a huge contribution to the strengthening and development of the unity of the Turkic peoples. Three years ago, by the historical decree of Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, the Turkestan region was created, the city of Turkestan became the regional center. The special decree of the Leader of the Nation became a historical event not only for the residents of Kazakhstan, but also for the entire Turkic world. From that moment on, the development of the city took on an unprecedented scale. In just three years, Turkestan became known not only in the Turkic world, but also beyond its borders. The ancient city not only retained its historical features, but also received modern development. All this causes not only surprise, but also admiration. In connection with all of the above, I would like to urge you to the following: I propose to erect in the center of the spiritual capital of the Turkic world – in the city of Turkestan, a monument to the person who initiated the revival of the city, as well as made an invaluable contribution to the implementation of the idea of ​​Turkic integration – Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. There are many reasons for this. This thought arose out of special respect for the wise aksakal of the Turkic world, being the head of state, who was concerned about the unification of the Turkic peoples, who strove to ensure the prosperity and tranquility of the Kazakh people, to preserve its independence. The adoption at this summit of the “Turkestan Declaration” at the suggestion of the head of state, and the proclamation of Turkestan “the spiritual capital of the Turkic world” at the initiative of the Leader of the Nation is an important step that gives impetus to the region.
