President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law that criminalizes receiving sex services from minors between the ages of 16 and 18, reports zakon.kz.

The text of the law was published in the republican newspaper Narodnoye Slovo.

According to the document, Article 128-1 is introduced into the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which provides for liability for sexual intercourse with a minor between the ages of 16 and 18 for “material values ​​or property gain.”

The article provides for a punishment of 300 hours of community service or two years of correctional labor, as well as two years of restriction or imprisonment.
