Places to swim in and around Barcelona
During the summer in Barcelona, from late May to early October, the city gets very warm (similar to the rest of Spain). They are around 30 degrees in midsummer and of course, as nice as it is, we often need a cool down!
There are plenty of places to cool off in Barcelona, but our favorite pick is next to a gorgeous swimming pool. Luckily, Barcelona is home to a ton of public pools and water parks where you can relax and soak up the sun. Read on for our list of the best places to swim in Barcelona!

Centro Esportiu Municipal Parc de la Ciutadella
Right next to the Parc de Ciutadella you will find the rooftop pool of the Municipal Sports Center of Ciutadella. This pool is long and shallow, making it a great choice for families with kids, and the site itself offers a tranquil and welcoming space. This is a great place to relax and read a book, sunbathe, take a quick dip or have a picnic.
Tickets are available for around 17 euros for adults and just under 8 euros for children.

PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park
This is an incredible water park, perfect for a day trip with family or just having fun with friends. Just outside of Barcelona, you can reach Tarragona, home of the PortAventura water park, in over an hour by train. You will find a wave pool, a lazy river, water slides and an indoor area with children’s attractions.
The park is 34,000 m2 and tickets cost just €29 for adults and €25 for children. There’s one too PortAventura theme parkfor which you can buy tickets separately or as a bundle to get access to both parks!

Illa Fantasia Illa Fantasia
This is another water complex that is suitable for all ages and features a wave pool, water features, rapids and a pirate-themed maze. They have 22 slides and 3 large swimming pools perfect for keeping the whole family cool this summer.
Tickets cost €28 for adults and €17 for children – you can Book online to skip the line.

Club Natació Atlètic Barcelona
Club Natació Atlètic- Barcelona is located near Sant Sebastià and offers both indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant. They also have public pools, hammocks overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the architectural iron tower of Sant Sebastià.

Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc
The Montjuïc municipal swimming pool has one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Barcelona. We recommend climbing to the top to admire the views and architecture from above. Then, if you head down to the Piscina Municipal, you can take a dip and cool off while enjoying the stunning views over the city.

Llac de la Creueta del Coll
If you like something different, you can swim in the pool of the Creueta del Coll Park. It doesn’t cost much more than a euro and will reward your mind and body. Here you will find umbrellas, a lawn, hammocks and canoes.
