Kazakhstan entered a dry cycle
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, heard a report from the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources on the main directions of the department’s work for 2020, as well as on the priorities for the upcoming period, reports zakon.kz with a link to Akorda.
Magzum Mirzagaliyev told the Head of State about the prospects for water supply in the coming growing season. According to the minister, our country has entered a dry cycle due to low levels of snow reserves. In this context, the President pointed out the importance of work on the digitalization of water canals. Within 5 years, 119 channels are to be digitized throughout the republic.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also informed about the start of the implementation of the Fishing Industry Development Program until 2030. According to Magzum Mirzagaliyev, an increase in fish production from 9 thousand to 270 thousand tons is expected within 10 years.
In addition, the Head of State was informed about the state of geological exploration, ecological tourism and national parks.
