The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the world has exceeded the number of cases

There are more people who received the COVID-19 vaccine than the sick. This was stated by the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, reports zakon.kz with reference to RIA Novosti.

Worldwide, vaccinations have surpassed the number of reported infections. On the one hand, this is good news and a startling achievement in such a short period of time, but more than three-quarters of these vaccinations are in just 10 countries, where nearly 60% of global GDP has accumulated, he said in a briefing on Friday.

The head of WHO stressed that almost 130 countries with a total population of 2.5 billion people have not yet received even the first dose of the vaccine. He reiterated his call on states that have already vaccinated the most vulnerable populations and health workers to share surplus vaccines with other countries before continuing with mass vaccinations.
