On the social network Instagram, which belongs to Facebook, a new function has been launched, reports zakon.kz.

According to RIA Novosti, the social network has begun a global launch of a function that will hide likes under posts in the feed.

From today, users will be able to choose: whether to hide the “likes” counter under their posts on Instagram or not, whether to hide from themselves the number of “likes” under the posts from the news feed, the company said.

It is noted that the ability to hide the “likes” counter for more than one billion users worldwide is a step forward for Instagram.

Although in some countries this feature has been available for some time, most users could not hide the “likes” until today, – added the company.

Hiding the “likes” counter, as Instagram found out during their testing of this feature, helps some users reduce their perceived social pressure, while others regret not being able to follow what’s popular.
